Police Police is a 2010 Telugu buddy cop film directed by Manmohan and produced by Chandu. The film stars Sriram, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Sanjjanaa in the lead roles. Parasuram is a 2003 Tamilaction film directed by Arjun. It stars him, Abbas, Goundamani, Kiran Rathod, Gayathri Raguram, and Rahul Dev in lead roles. The music was composed by A. R. Rahman. The film released on 30 May 2003 and was dubbed in Hindi as Parashuram and in Telugu as Police Karthavyam.[1]
Plot[edit]
The case is entrusted to Assistant Police Commissioner Parasuram (Arjun), a patriotic officer tough as a nail. His love is Anjali (Kiran Rathod), who has nothing much to do in the narrative. The bad guy is Akash (Rahul Dev), who sends misguided youths to Pakistan for training and brings them back to subvert our peaceful state. Akash's identity is a secret, while Shiva (Abbas) pops in as Naghulan's (Shyam Ganesh) brother and gives a speech against terrorism. Meena (Gayathri Raguram) is a petty thief who has a soft corner on our macho officer. The rest of the story is all about how Parasuram nails the bad guys with excessive blood spewing.

Production[edit]
The film was initially launched under the title Ashoka with Shaji Kailas as director. Later he was Shaji opted out from the film due to creative differences, with Arjun himself taking the reins of directorial. The film's title was changed as Parasuram.[2]
Reception[edit]
The film opened to negative reviews, with the reviewer, Sify.com, calling this movie as 'pathetic'. The film also bombed at the box office.[3]

The score and soundtrack were composed by music maestro A.R. Rahman. The re-recording for background score was done by Pravin Mani himself as stated by Rahman & credited in the movie. The soundtrack is regarded as average by Rahman's standard.[4]

Karthavyam is a 1990 Telugu politicalaction drama film directed by Mohan Gandhi. The film was a blockbuster and was subsequently dubbed into Tamil as Vyjayanthi IPS. The lead actress Vijayashanti won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film.[1] The film was written by Paruchuri Brothers and is roughly based on the real-life story of Kiran Bedi, IPS Officer.[2] The film was premiered at the 14th International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section.[3]
